Why on earth would I voluntarily put my company through an audit? Well the answer may surprise.

At SAMS we are happy to have had our CHAS registration renewed for 2014 in respect of our CDM services to construction projects. Although some may shudder at the thought of being audited, we have found that being audited and inspected on a regular basis (as we are here at SAMS Ltd) allows us to look closely at our operation to ensure we are continuing to provide an excellent service – rather than giving an image of excellence just before a scheduled audit!
As we are training providers, we are also frequently audited by our training providers such as UKATA and NEBOSH, which gives great confidence that the services being offered are of a high quality.
In today’s competitive market, placing your organisation at the mercy of an external audit is definitely worth thinking about. But who to choose? What company will offer a meaningful accreditation? What’s the point in doing it? Will it make our organisation more competitive?
Firstly they are not that expensive to apply for, and once awarded the awarding body provides access to a range of potential clients who are approaching the awarding body for potential contractors thus providing an opening to new market places. So an avenue into clients who may not use your services without the accreditation.
It also shows a commitment to Quality that will reflect in the day to day running of the organisation and so assisting with maintaining a quality service year round. This will hopefully be reflected in the productivity at an organisation as any not so great practices that could possibly occur will be nipped in the bud early on.
At SAMS Ltd we can assist in this process and offer advice on which agency best meets your needs and then, as appropriate assist in gaining the award first time around.

Please get in touch with any queries as we’d be happy to help.
