Did you know that an estimated 700,000 works in Britain sustained an injury at work in 2020/2021. The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 require all employers to make arrangements to ensure their employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work.

Nevertheless, there is a new law requiring businesses to offer mental heath first aid training has been presented to parliament. This is in hopes that this will lead to more people spotting the early signs of mental health issues in the work place.

This Bill in simple terms will mean that workers will need a person to signpost them to the help they need when they need it. Therefore, it’s recommended that employers should get ahead of the game!

However, not only will it be a legal requirement to put out a risk assessment and appointing a suitable amount of first aider it’s just generally important to take care of your staff. As an employer you should be prepared for any incident that may happen in your workplace regardless of whether its physical or to do with your staff’s mental wellbeing.

By simply taking our Level 2 First Aid for Mental Health course, not only will you as an employer be more prepared for any incidents in the work place, but you will learn how to approach conversation about the topic, and how to help staff correctly if these matters do come up.

Our Level 2 mental health course will be taught using the platform Zoom, however if there is 4 or more people that want to join along then the option of classroom training may become available. As well as one-to-one video training, you’ll also receive course materials, that will be easily accessible via E-book. Finally, you’ll take two assessments via ZOOM.

Rest assured that the courses provide the same qualification as our equivalent classroom courses and cover all the same content. The training will be conducted by one of our experienced trainers and is fully supported and accredited by the FAA.

This training addresses an issue that’s particularly pertinent at the moment, with mental health being especially important whilst the country goes into a recession. Both courses will help you to identify issues with others, provide support, and instil a more positive culture in your workplace.

The Level 2 course focuses more on what you can do as an individual to support others and explores the most common mental health conditions. We have a slightly more advanced mental health course available to those that would like a more in depth knowledge on the matter. It focuses on workplace culture and policies, as well as a broader range of conditions.
